By using CompressWise, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the website or the public image compressor.
What CompressWise provides
CompressWise provides a free browser-based image compression tool for supported image formats. The public workflow is designed to process selected files locally in your browser by default.
The tool may not reduce every image. Some files are already optimized, some settings may increase output size, and some browsers or devices may be unable to process very large images.
Your files and rights
You keep ownership of the images you select and process. You are responsible for having the rights, permissions, and legal authority to use, modify, and download those files.
Do not use CompressWise to process images that violate laws, rights, privacy obligations, or agreements that apply to you.
Local processing boundary
The current public tool is designed so selected image files are not uploaded to CompressWise servers by default. If a future cloud feature, account feature, or server-side upload is added, it should be separate and clearly labeled.
Compression results and metadata
Compression can change image quality, color, dimensions, file size, metadata, transparency handling, and browser-rendered output. Review the downloaded result before publishing, sending, or replacing an original file.
Metadata controls are not exposed in the current public interface. Keep original files when metadata must be preserved.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer protected service behavior, overload infrastructure, or use CompressWise for illegal or harmful activity.
Third-party technology
CompressWise may rely on browser APIs, open-source libraries, WASM codecs, hosting providers, and other third-party technology. Those systems can have their own limitations, licenses, update schedules, and availability risks.
Availability and changes
CompressWise may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the website at any time. Features, limits, supported formats, and compression behavior may change as the product evolves.
No warranties
CompressWise is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every file, workflow, legal requirement, or professional use.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CompressWise will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption arising from your use of the website.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date.
