Image files and local processing
When you select images in the public compressor, the compression workflow is designed to run on your device through browser APIs, Web Workers, and browser-loaded codecs. Your selected image files should not be sent to CompressWise servers in this default public workflow.
You should keep your original files. Compression can change file size, quality, color, metadata, and browser-rendered output depending on the source file and settings.
Technical data we may receive
Like most websites, CompressWise may receive basic technical data through hosting providers, CDN services, security systems, and server logs. This can include IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested URL, timestamps, and similar diagnostic information.
This technical data is used to operate the website, troubleshoot errors, understand reliability, protect against abuse, and maintain security. It is not intended to include the selected image files you process locally.
Cookies and tracking
The current public release does not set analytics cookies or advertising cookies. If analytics, ads, affiliate tracking, or non-essential cookies are added later, the Privacy Policy should be updated before those features are used.
Your browser, hosting providers, or security services may handle standard technical signals that are necessary to deliver pages and protect the site.

Future cloud, account, or payment features
If CompressWise adds optional cloud processing, accounts, billing, credits, file history, or server-side uploads, those features must be clearly labeled and covered by updated privacy terms before they are used.
